Kyra has been invited to the AKC/Eukanuba Invitational Dog Show as one of the Top Twenty Five Newfoundlands of 06/07. The Show will be held in Long Beach Ca. on Dec 1st & 2nd 2007
Best Of Opposite Sex - Westminster Kennel Club - 02/12/ 2007
On November 5, 2006 at the Baton Rouge Kennel Club Dog Show Kyra became the first brown Newfoundland bitch ever to receive a group I in he Working Group. JUDGE: Col Joe B Purkhiser and handler Gerry Thornton.
"Happy Legs". We used "Happy Legs" to train Kyra as a puppy. Kyra learned to stand still on the table so she could be groomed and learned to stand correctly with out fidgeting. Kyra loved to play "Happy Legs".
On July 14th, 2005 Kyra, just a few months over a year old and Pat who had retired from handling some fifteen years ago entered the ring in the Bred By Exhibitor class.
Kyra proved practice makes perfect. Pat proved she still has the touch and they went Winners Bitch, Best Of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex to Best Of Breed. Best Of Breed went to our Beren.
Note: Kyra will retire from the show ring after the AKC / Eukanuba Invatational Show
in December and will be bred some time in 2008.
